News and Events
Two outstanding Club members were installed as co-presidents for the 2017-2018 club year: 
Trautie Becker and Vivien S. Finn.  Both have had a long career in various Club leadership positions. 
Trautie will continue in her position as Treasurer and Vivien as State Federation Secretary.  They jointly called on club members to “say yes” when called upon for help and to offer suggestions on ways to inprove the Club.



JANUARY 10: VALENTINE CARDS FOR OUR RETIRED SERVICE MEN AND WOMENT WILL BE DECORATED, MESSAGES WRITTEN AND DELIVERED ALONG WITH A SMALL GIFT TO THE EAST ORANGE VETERANS’ HOSPITAL. ALL ARE INVITED TO JOIN IN THE EFFORT AT 1:30

THE BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP MEETS AT 1:30 THE 3RD THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH

THE NEEDLEWORK GROUP MEETS THE 2ND AND 4TH THURSDAY OF THE MONTH AT 12:30.

THE 2ND MONDAY OF THE MONTH AT NOON IS THE BRIDGE AND OTHER GAMES GROUP.

THE BOOK CLUB MEETS THE 3RD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH AT 1:30.


JANUARY 17 AT NOON.  TRAUTIE’S FAMOUS HOMEMADE GOULASH AND HOMEADE RUM RAISIN ICE CREAM FOR DESERT.  $24 PER PERSON.  TO-GO MEANS AVAILABLE FOR $10.  RESERVATIONS BY JAN. 10.

JANUARY 24 AT 1:30: ERIC DIAMOND WILL ENTERTAIN US WITH SELECTIONS FROM BROADWAY SHOWS WITH HIS MASTERFUL PIANO PLAYING AND LIVELY VOCALS.  HE IS A PROFESSOR OF MUSICAL THEATER AT MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY.  THE SONGS OF ROGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN ARE HIS SPECIALTY.

JANUARY 31 AT NOON:  YOU ARE INVITED TO BRING WRAPPED CANDY AND A BAGGED LUNCH AS WE ASSEMBLE CANDY GIFTS FOR VALENTINE’S DAY FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES IN NEWARK.  JOANN APONTE WILL DELIVER THE GIFTS FOR THE CLUB.

FEBRUARY 2AT 1:30:  JOHN LANZA WILL GIVE A SLIDE PRESENTATION ON “FIRST LADIES OF THE UNITED STATES.’   HE WILL DISCUSS WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS AND LEGACIES.
